Virgin Atlantic says in the 17 years of operating the Nigerian route, it flew for 38, 600, 000 kilometres and served four million glasses of bubbly.
In a statement on Friday to mark the anniversary on Thursday, the airline said connected friends, unites families, and flew people to epic business meetings, conferences and life-changing deals.
It also said flying travellers on honeymoons, dream holidays and their must-see destinations, Virgin Atlantic have been making dreams come true for 17 years and 35 000 ft.
According to the statement, Virgin Atlantic has flown 26 million passengers in over 12,000 flights in Nigeria in the 17 years of flying.
The Head of Virgin Atlantic in Nigeria, Samuel Lindfield, said to celebrate the milestone, the airline is giving a 17 per cent discount on flights from Lagos to London and the U.S for a period of 72 hours using the discount code NW001 on online booking.
The statement added that the airline has supported the careers of local entrepreneurs by linking them up with the Founder and President, Sir Richard Branson for long-term business mentoring.
