Governor Dankwambo
At last, Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2019 Presidency under the Democratic Party (PDP).
He has now joined the ranks of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and a former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi. Makarfi was one-time, National Caretaker chairman of PDP.
Dankwambo made the declaration Saturday at a meeting with delegates and executives of the party from the North-East.
According to him, his decision was hinged after numerous calls and wide consultations with various stakeholders from the zone.
He explained that the North-East Zone has been consulting and lobbying with other geo-political zones to allow it the opportunity to produce the next flag bearer of the PDP.
