2022 World Cup qualifier: Super Eagles train behind closed-doors ahead CAR clash
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will have their second training today, Wednesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos behind the closed doors to finalise their preparations ahead of their game against Central African Republic, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles No 1 goalkeeper Maduka Okoye didn’t take part in their first training session on Tuesday as the only player yet to hit the team’s training camp ahead of Thursday’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic.
The Sparta Rotterdam shot stopper missed the team’s first full training at the Teslim Balogun Stadium and as a result may lose his place to another goalkeeper in Thursday’s encounter. Francis Uzoho and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi were part of the 22 players who trained yesterday.
Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen as well fresh call-ups Taiwo Awoniyi and Calvin Bassey were pat of the 22 players that took part in the training.
The Eagles take on Central African Republic, who landed in Lagos today, Thursday with the return leg on Sunday.
Nigeria lead their qualifying group with six points after two rounds of matches, while CAR are third on a point. (Bsn sport)
