Former gubernatorial candidate for Labour Party in the 2011 Cross River State governorship race, Mrs Imah Nsa Adegoke has again thrown her hat into the ring for next year’s governorship contest.

She is aspiring on the platform of PDP, making her the second woman to declare her aspiration. The other woman is former Nigeria’s ambassador to Ethiopia, Mrs Nkoyo Toyo.

Adegoke has since made her intention known to the PDP officials in Calabar.

Adegoke who hails from Creek Town in Odukpani LGA of the state is married to Chief Adegoke from Kwara State.

She said she was not scared of the moneybags and big time politicians in the state that have so far bought the intention form and extensively consulted stakeholders for their aspiration.

She said she will strive to see that the status quo is shifted from the present if she wins the race PDP ticket and finally the governorship.

“The situation our state finds herself now needs one like me to step in so as to reorder the system.

“This is why we are coming on the heels of Shifting The Status quo.”

Since after her first sojourn in 2011, Adegoke diverted her attention towards bringing the plight of widows to the front burner of discourse.

In February, she led leaders of widows in the state to visit the 18 paramount chiefs in the state, soliciting their supports for implementation of the Female Person property ownership law of 2007.
