A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Chief Victor Bala Kona has pledged to run an all inclusive administration if elected.
Chief Kona stated this while officially declaring his intention to contest the governorship position in Jalingo, Taraba State capital.
The aspirant who was the immediate past Chairman of the PDP in Taraba State said the task of governing the state no doubt requires competence, strong character, experience and above all high understanding of politics and politicians which he all posses.
The Garkuwan Bakundi described himself as a thorough-bred politician born and bred in Taraba State and spent most his political career in party administration being the State Chairman of the defunt UNCP in 1996 before becoming the State Chairman of the PDP in 2012 during which the PDP deepened and maintained its grip in Taraba State winning two consecutive Gubernatorial elections in 2015 and 2019. He said his desire is to further consolidate the control of the PDP and translate it into meaningful development inline with the policy of political inclusion and infrastructural development of the Party. He maintained that with the abundant human and natural resources, the state should have no business with poverty all that is required is the political will to harness them for the betterment of the people.
Kona said he will focus on key developmental projects in the areas of education, agriculture, health, security and other infrastructure to make Taraba State a better place for all.
He noted that all these can only be when peace is guaranteed which must be deeply rooted in love for one another to promote unity and prosperity among the people that could only be achieved when the people shun all kinds of differences and ensure justice and equality.
The PDP chieftain said the consensus arrangement of the PDP is good but was however quick to add that he will not accept any consensus that is not in his favour where a novice will be imposed because he is the most qualified.
