21-year-old scavenger incurs wrath of God for desecrating graves in Bauchi, to be prosecution for stealing, selling iron rods to buy hard drugs

For having the courage and effrontery to disturb the dead from their permanent sleep by desecration of grave yards in a Christian cemetery, a 21-year old youngman, Dauda Sa’idu has incurred the wrath of God as he has been arrested by the State Police Command.

The arrested 21 years old Dauda Sa’idu, a scavenger, is a resident of Yelwa and has been engaged in the nefarious activities for a couple of times before he was finally arrested.

The Command Police Spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakili made this known in a statement he shared with Journalists on Sunday.

According to him, “On Friday, September 20, 2024, the Bauchi State Police Command arrested Dauda Saidu, a 21-year-old scavenger resident of Yelwa, for trespassing, vandalism, and theft.”

Ahmed Wakili added that, “The detainee unlawfully entered a Christian cemetery in the Yelwan Kagadama area of Bauchi, causing damage to several graves and removing iron rods during daylight hours.”

He added that, “Following interrogation, Dauda Sa’idu confessed to the offenses, admitting to stealing multiple iron rods and selling them to scrap metal buyers in separate transactions, amounting to ₦9,500, ₦12,000, and ₦5,500, respectively.”

“Dauda Saidu also disclosed that the proceeds were used to purchase an undisclosed quantity of Indian hemp and food items for personal consumption,” The statement further contained.

The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad has therefore instructed that Dauda Sa’idu be prosecuted following the conclusion of the investigations.

Additionally, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of parental supervision and urged parents and guardians to be vigilant in monitoring their children and wards.
