3 students abducted at Obong University
Three students have been abducted at the Obong University, Obong Ntak, in Etim Ekpo Local Government area of Akwa Ibom State by gunmen.
One of the students was however said to have sustained gunshot injury during the abduction.
The students were kidnapped on Friday at about 12:48am after they were robbed of some possessions.
The Assistant Registrar of the university, Mr Edet Etim, told newsmen the school had been shut for some months because of the unrests in the area.
Etim explained that many staff of the institution and members of the town were forced to relocate to other places due to the activities of bandits.
The Police Public Relations Officer to the Akwa Ibom Police Command, Mr Odiko Macdon, said though three students were kidnapped, one was rescued.
