INEC issues certificate of return to Bauchi Governor-elect, Deputy-Governor-elect, 31 assembly members

Though there were insinuations that reelected Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir will not get his certificate of return, INEC, Bauchi State office, on Friday, presented the certificate to the Governor as Governor-elect alongside his Deputy Governor-elect, Auwal Jatau.
Also, all the 31 elected members of the State House of Assembly received their certificates of return at the Bauchi State office of the INEC having been declared as the winners of the 18th March Governorship and State Assembly Elections in the state.
During the presentation of the certificates of return, INEC commended the electorates for their patient and resilient during the whole electionnairing process saying that they are there to protect the interest of Nigerians through consolidation of democracy.
The INEC National Commissioner
in charge of Bauchi, Borno and Yobe states, Modibbo Alkali (rtd) said that the electoral umpire has Performed its responsibility of conducting a credible electionnairing process that can be proud of in the entire nation.
Earlier, the Bauchi State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Muhammed Nura Bulama called on those who emerged victorious to fulfill their promises to Nigerians after getting the people’s mandate at the polls.
Mohammed Nura also said that the presentation of the Certificates of Return was in compliance with the Electoral Act which guides the Independent National Electoral Commission in all its operations, he thereafter congratulated all the winners.
While receiving the certificate, Bala Mohammed assured people of the state that he will consolidate on the good governance established from the beginning of his administration towards sustainable development.
The Governor who expressed gratitude for the orderly and peaceful conduct of the election promised to reciprocate the collective efforts of the common man through provision of people oriented projects across the state.
The Governor then urged those who lost in the elections to accept the will of God, and join him to work for the entire state saying that he will continue to serve the people of the state through hardwork and dedication.
The Governor was accompanied to the INEC office by a mammoth crowd of supporters and well wishers who were drumming, singing and dancing to express their happiness over the development.
Bala Mohammed was thereafter received by another set of mammoth crowd of supporters and well wishers at the Ramat House.
It will be recalled that immediately after he was declared winner of the gubernatorial election, rumours have been going round that he will not be issued with the certificate of return to due what the rumour mongers described as irregularities during the conduct of the gubernatorial election.
