Medical specialist applauds introduction of Electronic Medical Record in Nigerian hospitals

The Prime E-Health, a Nigerian healthcare company Chief Executive Officer, Dr Are Abdulhafiz has applauded the introduction and positive impact of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in Nigerian hospitals.

He stated this in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

According to Abdulhafiz, the introduction of EMR in Nigerian hospitals is gaining momentum and has modernised and improved the quality of care most especially in terms of data collection.

“EMR offer better insight into patients health, leading to accurate diagnosis and better patient care, digital records facilitate the sharing of information between the various specialists in medicine, thereby, improving coordination.

“It is in this light that, prime E-Health, one of the fastest growing too health care companies has been chosen as one of the few promising startups from thousands of startups across the world to participate in the founder boost 2023 fall pre-accelerators cohort,” he said.

He described the development as good news for Nigeria, adding that it was no longer news that technology keeps advancing in leaps and bounds with immense positive change in every sector.

He also said his firm was committed to providing solution that would guarantee easy access to health care and security in the area of data collection and strategy geared toward ensuring that all patients across Africa can have a unified health care management system.

This, he said fast tracks easy sharing of data among health providers.

“The health sector is a vital component of any country’s development and a good health care system that reduces the burden on families and contributes to national growth.

“Our intervention provides patients with tools to cut down on time wastage and increase overall health care experience by digitalizing the clinic process and record access and caps it up with a smooth payment management system.

“Prime E-Health has developed the smart clinic with patients smart card that allows fast tracked health care in hospital and convenient access from home. This gave rise to it’s approval and selection by Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) to provide telemedicine for Nigeria.

“The solution is currently used to automate healthcare services in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi, Federal Medical Centre Keffi, Nasarawa State and Joe University Teaching Hospital.
