Karim Lamido LG chairman Virginia condemns communal clashes in the area

The Chairman of Karim Lamido Local Government Area in Taraba State, Virginia Baba Bambur has condemned in strong terms the ugly communal clashes in the area.

The clashes involved the people of Usumanu, Minghe, Garin Galadima, Anguwan Mission Karim, Karim Maundi, Sarkin Kudu, Lewata, Didango, and others affected communities on Saturday night of November 29, 2025.

In a a statement, Bambur said the local government is committed to working closely with community leaders and stakeholders to foster dialogue and reconciliation.

The Chairman disclosed that efforts are being made to address the underlying issues that have led to these conflicts, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected.

“It is crucial for everyone involved to engage in constructive discussions and embrace solutions that promote harmony and progress focusing on collaboration and mutual understanding, we can pave the way for a brighter future for all residents,” she noted.

Bambur said the administration of Taraba State Governor, Dr.Agbu Kefas is committed to implementing sustainable initiatives that will enhance security and improve the quality of life across the local government.

“Together, we can build a community where peace and prosperity are the norms and every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Let’s sheath our swords in the best interest of peace,” the Chairman added.
