Senator Binani beats 5 male aspirants to clinch APC Adamawa governorship ticket

Senator Aishatu Binani has emerged the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Adamawa State defeating five male contestants in the process.
Senator Binani thus would become the second female to contest in a main governorship polls after the late Aishatu Alhassan of Taraba State.
In the primary election, Senator Binani polled 430 votes to defeat a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu who scored 288 votes, a former Governor of the state, Senator Jibrilla Bindow who got 103 votes, a Member of the House of Representatives, Abdulrazak Namdas, 94 votes, Engineer Umar Mustapha, 39 votes and Wafari Theman, 21 votes.
All the agents of the contestants agreed with the outcome of the polls after the Chairman, Committee for the APC Governorship Congress, Alhaji Gambo Lawal declared Binani winner.
