Alhaji Mustapha Usman Adamu

A former Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Mustapha Usman Adamu has been installed as the 13th Sarkin Bargun Ka’oje.
Ka’oje is in Gwandu Emirate in Bagudo local council of Kebbi State in northwest Nigeria.
The installation ceremony was done few days ago where tumultuous crowds of natives, guests and dignitaries witnesses the colourful ceremony.
It was learnt in Calabar, capital of Cross River State where a mini celebraton was held to commemorate the coronation, that the turbaning of the 13th Sarkin Bargu Ka’oje signifies the allegiance and loyalty of the Bargu Ka’oje District to Gwandu Emirate and the Jihad of Mallam Shehu Usmanu Fodiyo.
The dignitaries and natives held that it was a thing of joy and excitement for the 13th Sarkin Bargu, Mustapha Usman Adamu who was born in 1976 to ascend the throne of his forefathers at a time of abundant prosperity, peaceful co-existence and maximum support by the Gwandu Emirate.
The new king is the eldest son of Late Alh. Usman Adamu, The 12th Sarkin Bargu). Mustapha Usman Adamu and great grandson of the 5th Sarkin Bargu Muhammadu Buhari who reigned from 1905 to 1914.
Before his ascension to the throne as the 13th Sarkin Bargun Ka’oje, His Highness held the traditional title of Dangaladiman Bargu Ka’oje from 2009 to 2022.
The new king has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), is a farmer, well travelled and has held several other public offices as accountant and administrator.
The Sarkin is the patron of youths for Human Rights International Nigeria International (YHRI) which is an international Civil Society Organization (CSO) with its headquarters in Los Angeles, United State of America.
Speaking about his crowning, he said, “I pledge to ensure not only the continuum of the Ka’oje heritage but to also improve on it for the betterment of the people of Ka’oje District.
“I envision Ka’oje District as a land full of opportunity for individual and collective development, a people united, strong, peaceful and economically prosperous. I call on each person of our great land to join hands with me, to co-operate with the government, to contribute their quota to building a society of industrious and progressive people living happily in the pursuit of sustainable development.”
