Adamawa Governor, Fintiri inspects school built by federal government in Yola for possible taking over

Adamawa Governor, Fintiri and other officials inspect the school project

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has inspected a school built by the federal government at Buware in Yola South local government with a view for possible taking over of the site by the state government.

This followed observation at the huge funds invested at the abandoned project, the present administration deemed it necessary to take over and convert the site into either healthcare facility or educational institution.

This was contained in a statement by Muhammad B. Tukur, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor.

According to the statement, the site was sometimes occupied temporarily by United Nation High Commission for Refugees UNHCR as transition camp for IDPs during the peak of insurgency that devastated the north east part of the country.

Governor Umaru Fintiri during the inspection was conducted round the edifice by the Secretary to the State Government and State Chairman of COVID-19 Containment Committee Malam Bashir Ahmad among other senior government officials.

As at the time of the visit, some part of the roofing of the edifice was seen damaged which may be due storm and this indicates that if the state government succeed in taking over the site, the project will be rehabilitated, completed and put to use.

This is no doubt, a part of the policy of the Fintiri led administration to ensure that citizens benefit from all the projects initiated by federal government in the state so that the state will continue to wax stronger socially and economically.
