Adamawa Governor, Fintiri receives N200m, 3 ambulances donated by BUA Group in support of COVID-19 fight

Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Tuesday at Government House, Yola officially received a dummy check of N200million and three bus ambulances donated by BUA Group and Cement to strengthen the fight against COVID-19 in Adamawa.

The Company had on third July promised to support the efforts of state government in fighting COVID-19 with two hundred million naira as well as three bus ambulances when the Chairman of the BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Ishaka Rabiu led management staff on a visit to Governor Fintiri.

This was contained in a statement by Muhammad Bakari Tukur, Senior Special assistant New Media to the Governor.

Presenting the donation, the Chairman of the Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Ishaka Rabiu represented by the former minister of state for health Doctor Idi Hong said the gesture was to support the state to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Doctor Hong said BUA Group Foundation has so far spent about seven billion naira assisting governments and corporate organizations across the country and stressed that the company will continue to render assistance towards development of humanity.

Responding after receiving documents of the vehicles and the dummy check, Governor Umaru Fintiri expressed appreciation to the Chairman of BUA Group for the donation at a time when the economy is in serious crisis.

The Governor promised that government will use the vehicles and the money donated for the purpose intended declaring that the two hundred million naira has already been deposited at the state COVID-19 Containment account.

He also revealed that government has been receiving donations from the citizens in the state since the outbreak of coronavirus in Adamawa and called on other philanthropic organizations to emulate the gesture of BUA Group in assisting governments to fight the virus.
