Adamawa Police Command apprehends 15 suspects

Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended 15 suspected gangs of Shilla boys who have been terrorising residents of Yola, the state capital.

Those arrested are youngsters whose age ranges between 13 and 20 years.

The Adamawa State Police image maker SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said the suspects were arrested at Rumde ward in Jimeta, Yola North local government area and dangerous items recovered from them.

According to the statement, “In the early hours of today, Wednesday 13th March 2024, Police at Jimeta Division, Yola North LGA, Adamawa State, while on patrol with vigilante men along Rumde engaged radical Silla gangs operating with sharp daggers, knives robbing innocent people of their belongings.

He said fifteen out of the suspected criminals were arrested with dangerous weapons.

Items recovered include four sharp daggers, three knives, two telephone handsets, N19,000 and some hard drugs amongst others.

The arrested suspects are:

(3) Abdullahi Yusuf ‘m’ 18 yrs
(4) Abdulrazak Abubakar 19Years
(5) Ibrahim Umar 19 yrs
(6) Mohammed Zakaria 14yrs
(7) Mohammed Auwal 16yrs
(8) Kabiru Abdullahi 20yrs
(9) Auwal Adamu 15 yrs
(10) Aminu Adamu , 13 yrs
(11) Abdulraham Umar, 16 yrs
(12) Amir Mohammed , 15 yrs
(13) Anas A. Rufai 20 yrs
(14) Usman Tijjani 15 yrs
(15) Mohammed Abubakar 17years.

PPRO Nguroje assured that the suspects would be deligently prosecuted after the completion of investigations.
