Adamawa Police Command parades 58 suspected criminals

Adamawa State Police Command has arrested and paraded about fifty-eight suspected criminals in the state.
The state Commissioner of police, CP Dankombo Morrie Fallings stated this while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Yola the Adwmawa state capital.
CP Fallings said this has become necessary as when he came in there was the criminals were well pronounce in the state and therefore promised to flush these elements out the state.
His words, “when I took over the affairs of this command on the 14th February, 2024 I made a promise to the good people of this state, that I will fight crime and criminality to the nearest minimum to ensure that the remnants of criminal elements have been flushed it out the state.”
As soon as I assumed duty, I assessed the security situation in the state and discovered that one of the major challenges we have is menace of “Shila boys” a young group of armed men terrorising and making lives unbearable for the good people of the state.
According to CP Fallings, in a bid to checkmate their excesses, on the 16the February, 2024 the command in collaboration with the hunters launched a coordinated seamless Operation at Sambisa forest here in Adwmawa state. And that, the Sambisa forest happened to be a safe haven for the Shila boys activities.
CP Fallings said the case is still under investigations, suspects will be charged to court as investigations is concluded.
The Command therefore said, on the 17th March, this year the command operatives and tactical teams while on patrol intercepted and arrested five armed robbery gangs within Jimeta who robbed passengers and occupants of their vehicles from Taraba State but escaped to Adamawa State.
Some of the exhibits recovered includes, a Toyota Prado Jeep with registration number Abj 344 Hx, a Hummer bus registration number Rsh 79 Fa, two Ak 47 with twenty five rounds live ammunitions, the sum of N10, 690.00 cash, one power bank and two GSM handsets.
The suspects concerned have all confessed to the crime and will be charged to court accordingly. You can see that Adwmawa state is not safe for criminals. Also, on the 5th of this month, the command operatives arrested some armed gang of kidnappers at Ngurore who have been terrorizing the area and it’s environs. Two AK-47 riffles and twenty five rounds of live ammunitions we’re recovered from the suspects, case under investigation, he said.
The CP is therefore said, “I wish to appeal to the good people of the public that security is every body’s business, if you see something say something as a proactive measures to nip problem in the bud. And urge the people with to provide them with credible and timely information at when offence are committed or about to be committed, he added.
The Commissioner of police commended Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and the people of the state for the continuous support rendered to the command and assured that the suspects arrested will be prosecuted after the investigations.
