Following the Wednesday incident where the Anambra State Police Command lost four officers to gunmen, the new Commissioner of Police Mr. Monday Bala Kuryas, visits flashpoints in the State.
The new CP, alongside his team, has already visited major flashpoints in the State including the Enugwu-Agidi Road, Njikoka Local Government Area and Ukwulu Road, Dunukofia Local Government Area, Igbariam Junction, Nkwelle-Ezunaka Junction and Toll Gate, Ogbunike.
Others are Zik’s Roundabout by Borromeo Junction, Upper Iweka, Bridge Head, Owerri Road and Nkpor Junction.
Some of these areas are hub of criminal activities, including kidnapping, armed robbery, illegal revenue collection, carjacking, pickpocketting and other crimes.
At each of the areas, the CP interacted with the various Divisional Police Officers in charge of the designated Police formations on the challenges that they are facing and how to make their jobs better.
He also promised to reposition the men and double up numbers where necessary for effective job delivery.
Remember that in his inaugural address, Mr. Kuryas, had read a riot act to the few criminal elements in the State, reminding them that the force is all out to give them sleepless nights.
It would be recalled that four Policemen was reportedly killed in Nkpologwu, in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State by gunmen.
Their rifles were said to have be taken away by the hoodlums, who also set their patrol vehicle ablaze.
The assailants were said to have met their victims on Wednesday at a checkpoint in the Community.
