Anambra promotes 1,874 LG workers others set to benefits soon

A total of 1,874 workers in the Anambra State local government system have been promoted by the state government in 2017.
Similarly, promotion interviews for the councils civil servants for this year have commenced and about the same number are set to benefit from the exercise.
According to the Chairman, Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. (Sir) Peter Egenti, the Anambra State government has concluded all outstanding promotion up to 2017.
Egenti further announced that the commission would be organizing a productivity display this week which according to him would be an exhibition of household products of the staff of the 21 local government areas of the state.
Meanwhile, the joint meeting between the Senior Special Assistant to Anambra State governor Chief Pius Ezeagwu and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), in Anambra State ended in resolutions which included a further increase in salary of civil servants.
Speaking shortly after the meeting, the TUC chairman in the state, Comrade Ifeanyi Okechukwu, said the meeting was fruitful confirming the proposed salary increase.
