The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain in Nasarawa State, Dr. Muhammad Kassim has berated Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga over an unguarded comment on chairman of the North Central Governor Forum, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.

Dr Kassim who is also a Special Adviser on Political Affairs to Gov Sule gave the Knock in a press statement on Wednesday in Lafia.

According to him, the attack on Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule by one Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, a self-acclaimed chairman of a faceless group, “North Central APC Forum”, for visiting the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, was in bad taste.

Dr Kassim said Zazzaga acted the script of his paymasters, in an attempt to weep up emotion and hatred against the Governor across the North Central by connecting the visit to the national chairmanship seat struggle and the ongoing agitation to return it to the zone.

“In a purported sponsored interview credited to him, Zazzaga demanded a so-called apology from the governor. The said Zazzaga “condemned” Governor Sule, who is the Chairman of the APC North Central Governors’ Forum for “endorsing” the party’s national chairman.

“Now, how does a visit to the National Secretariat of our great party amount to an endorsement of a man who is already occupying the seat?

“In his desperation and that of his sponsors, Zazzaga also unsuccessfully tried to ignite sentiment in Gov. Sule’s home state by pitching him against former National Chairman of the APC and a father of the state, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and others,” he said.

Kassim explained that those faulting Governor Sule for calling for the stakeholders’ unity at the crucial time when the governorship polls for the two strategic states draw closer did not mean well for the party.

“Gov. Sule was at the National Secretariat of the party on a special invitation, as chairman of North Central Governor’s forum to find a solution toward resolving the APC crisis in one of the states from the zone, ‘Benue state’.

“That is why it is imperative to initiate a probe to unmask those using Zazzaga to further destabilise the party because of their parochial interests.

Dr Kassim challenged Zazzaga and his cohorts to attend the NEC meeting of the party on September 11th to move a motion for the removal of Ganduje if they are serious about the agitation to have Ganduje removed from office.

Dr Kassim described Zazzaga’s comment on Gov Sue’s performance as laughable while challenging him to visit Nasarawa State to see the transformation in various sectors for himself.

“It is surprising that despite his make-believe standing as a stakeholder of the party in the North Central, he is not even abreast of the transformation going on in Nasarawa State under Gov. Sule,” he said.
