Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has described the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as an individual who believes in justice, equity and fairness.
Engineer Sule made this known when he hosted Bola Tinubu and his campaign team, at the Government House, in Lafia, on Friday.
According to the Governor, Bola Tinubu is a kingmaker that has made several kings while also saving the lives of people.
He traced their relationship back to 2005, when Bola Tinubu started forming alliances in order to kick away the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from its stranglehold on national politics.
“I will tell you that this kingmaker that you see, the kingmaker that is wanting to be king now, started about alliances and everything as early as when it became evident that we are beginning to have a monster called PDP around 2005,” he stated.
Engineer Sule used the opportunity of the visit to point the way forward for the leading APC presidential aspirant.
“You believe in justice, equity and fairness.
“There is only one element about this to make you president. To go back to your friend, President Muhammadu Buhari, discuss with him, and say, Muhammadu Buhari, you must hand over to me. You have to pay me back for what I have done,” he advised.
Engineer Sule assured that, President Buhari strongly believes in the good of the country and will never ponder to selfishness.
“Whatever he does, we strongly believe is for the good of this country, for the future of this country, that’s why the governors respect him,” he said.
The Governor was optimistic that of Bola Tinubu can reach out to the president to resolve the matter, all the governors will have no option than to line up behind him and to deliver him at the presidential election.
“Then you will put a team like you are used to putting teams, you know how to put teams together that will build nations,” Engineer Sule said.
In his remarks, APC presidential hopeful, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, said he was in Nasarawa State to seek for support on his ambition to become the next president of the country.
Bola Tinubu said if elected as president, he will tackle the prevailing insecurity across the country headlong.
He said he is fully equipped to provide the leadership the country needs, particularly at a time when insecurity is posing a great challenge.
“I have seen what challenges you are facing and what challenges the president faces. I’m coming. Help is on its way.
“We will tackle the question of insecurity headlong. We will educate Nigerians that it’s the same blood that flows in the body of everyone,” Tinubu said.
Speaking about the high number of presidential aspirants within the APC, Tinubu drew an analogy of the master relay sprinter, stressing that he is being careful to remain on his lane focused on breasting the tape.
“To run a relay successfully, you hold the baton tightly, you must listen to the sound of the gun to start, don’t miss the starting point.
“And when you start the relay don’t cross the lane and create accident, intentionally or otherwise,” he stated.
He commended Engineer Sule on his sterling leadership which is bringing development to the state, stressing that the Governor has accumulated knowledge and experience before joining politics.
He said Nasarawa State was lucky to have Engineer Sule as governor, based on his experience with the Governor when he was in the private sector.
Tinubu equally commended the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura, for ensuring continuity in effective leadership in the state.
Earlier in an introductory remarks, former Borno State governor and Director General of the Ahmed Bola Tinubu campaign organisation, Kashim Shettima, described Tinubu as a living legend.
According to Shettima, Nigeria needs a leader like Tinubu who will unite the country, “a leader that panders to neither ethnic nor religious agenda and is not bound by any toxic regional solidarity.”
Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital went agog as Bola Tinubu came visiting as supporters trooped out to welcome the APC national leader.
Bola Tinubu later met with delegates from the state, where he sought for their support.
Among the top dignitaries at hand to recieve the former Lagos State governor include Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura, Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Barrister Mohammed Ubandoma Aliyu, former deputy governor, Hon. Silas Agata, former member House of Representatives, Hon Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, amongst others.
