The Member representing Anambra East/West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Peter Udogala Anekwe, has commended women for their tasking responsibilities in the society.
The lawmaker who spoke through his Media Adviser, Mr.Odikpo Mmadubueze, explained that the women in Africa were saddled with enormous responsibilities which include taking care of children and other domestic duties performed by women at home front coupled with working for the economic survival of their families
Hon. Anekwe fondly known as MacPee, Milinaliugwu of Omambala stated this in his Oroma-Etiti Anam home in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State when the women of the community paid him courtesy call as part of their popular August meeting in South East.
He said the role of women in the family is indispensable, pointing out that for a society to move forward, the role of mothers amust be recognised and respected.
He however advised mothers to ensure they did not lag behind in their duties, especially when it concerns the upbringing of children and taking care of their husbands, saying that women should as of necessity consider these roles as their primary obligations and God given.
The lawmaker maintained that until women start seeing themselves as teachers, home makers and builders, things would continue to go wrong in our society.
He prayed that as they continued to honestly and conscientiously discharge their God given roles, they would receive the commensurate blessings from God.
