Banditry: Security personnel rescue 30 from bandits in Kebbi

Military personnel have secured the release of at least no fewer than 30 people from bandits in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Confirming this development to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday, the Chairman, Danko/Wasagu LG, Alhaji Hussaini Aliyu Bena commended the state government for what he described as continued and monumental support to security agencies towards restoring peace in the state.

He explained that 24 of the abducted people were released on Friday while another six were released on Saturday.

The Chairman noted with satisfaction the release of outstanding allowance of security agencies in the state by Governor Dr. Nasir Idris-led administration.

“Let me also appreciate the efforts of the Brigade Commander in charge of Kebbi, Zamfara and Sokoto states for the reailliance of his officers and men which led to the rescue of 30 people in just two days,” Bena added.

According to him, some of the abducted people were from Kotangora in Niger State, some from Danmari, Kaba and Kajiji in Sokoto and Zamfara states respectively while others were from Bena in Kebbi State.

He added that arrangement had been concluded to take care of their medical examination to ensure that “they are in good and sound health.”
