Worried by the comment credited to the Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir alleging that some Abuja based politicians are sending criminals to the state to cause disaffection for his administration, the State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has challenged the Governor to proof his allegation by naming the politicians.
State Caretaker Chairman of the APC, Uba Nana during a press conference on Thursday at the APC secretariat in Bauchi said that the allegations was a cunning attempt to cover-up the ineptitude administration blunders and apparent failure of the governor .
He also said that in the history of Bauchi, the state is witnessing for the first time, a government that is less committed to the people’s welfare, pointing out that social welfare is next to nothing in the agenda of Governor, civil servants are reduced to paupers, begging for charity in order to survive, inconsistent and lopsided payment of salaries are now the order of the day and contractors are reduced to jobless fellows amongst others.
Uba Nana said that, “Let all APC members, people of Bauchi state and the general public know that enough is enough for the wise and we shall call a spade a spade. The Governor of Bauchi state made some unfounded allegations in his public address last week Tuesday, where he bluntly said, “I know some leaders of the state who are busy bringing criminals to the state.I will talk when the time comes, but certainly we are not afraid of them”
He added that, “While we categorically oppose and disapprove of the deliberate chicanery of the governor to divert attention, one would be quick to ponder, Who are these Abuja politicians, what are their names? What are the evidence or proofs, if any, to justify these allegations?
The APC Caretaker Chairman further said that, “Instead of media trial, why not brief the appropriate law enforcement agents to investigate and prosecute anyone found in connection with the alleged crime or are the allegations made for political reasons?”
He however called on the state governor to focus on his campaign promises instead of diverting public attention, adding that the people of Bauchi state are fully conscientised and have attained political maturity that such gimmicks of the governor will make no impact in their psyche owing to the imminent failure of the administration in Bauchi state
Uba Nana said that APC will resist any attempt to divert public attention and shall not succumb to any threat whatsoever, adding that the failure of his administration is imminent as it’s poor performance permeates through all sectors and agencies in Bauchi state.
