Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have been urged to continue to support the policies and programmes of the APC-led Federal Government to enable President Bola Tinubu deliver on the mandate Nigerians gave the party and him.
The call was made by the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the 2023 general election, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar when he paid a visit to APC supporters at the party secretariat on Monday.
The visit was to thank the supporters for the support they gave to the party during the 2023 governorship and the recently concluded rerun elections in the state.
The retired Chief of Air Staff turned politician said that APC is a party that has come to stay in the state, pointing out that despite the fact that the party did not win the 2023 gubernatorial election, it has not stopped it from waxing stronger in the state.
According to him, “I want to commend you for the tremendous support we received from youths and women during the electioneering campaign. This is so overwhelming because it show your patriotism and commitment to the party”
He added that, “Despite the fact that we did not win the election, it does not mean we failed, we always succeed in everything we do and I am assuring you that come 2027, the party will bounce back again.”
“I want you to remain committed and loyal to the party no matter the challenge.I assure you that we will smile again at the end of the day,” he said.
Abubakar however lamented the state of negligence of youths and women, warning that things must change in the positive to save the future of unborn generations.
He condemned the travails of Bauchi Islamic Cleric, Idris Abdulaziz who is declared wanted by the Police, saying that the Cleric is a man of peace who always stood with truth.
While responding, Bauchi State APC Chairman, Muhammed Hassan Tilde said that Ambassador Sadique Abubakar remains part and parcel of the APC, saying that he has become a great pillar and asset to the party that is an added advantage.
Tilde appreciated him for his support to the party and its candidates during the recent rerun elections in four state assembly constituencies.
The APC Chairman said that, “Ambassador Sadique is a great asset to this great party, he supports the party in anyway he can, in the area of giving counsel where necessary and even offering his resources. All these we cannot take for granted, but to say to him that we are thankful.”
