By Sani Adamu Musa, Bauchi

The Bauchi State Government has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups engaged in illegal tree felling, emphasizing the environmental damage it causes as a major threat.

The warning was delivered by the State Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Ahmad Kawule, in an interview with newsmen in Bauchi.

Kawule revealed that the Ministry has received reports of unpatriotic individuals cutting down trees illegally and urged those engaged in the act to immediately put a stop or face the full wrath of the law.

Illegal tree felling is a major threat to the environment, causing deforestation, erosion, and climate change. The Bauchi State Government has declared war against illegal felling of trees and charcoal business to address these challenges.

The Bauchi State Government has been working tirelessly to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. The government has implemented various initiatives aimed at reducing deforestation, promoting reforestation, and encouraging sustainable land use practices.

The community has a crucial role to play in preventing illegal tree felling. Community members can report any suspicious activity to the authorities and work together to promote sustainable land use practices.

“We urge community members to report any illegal tree felling activity to the authorities,” Kawule said. “Together, we can protect our environment and promote sustainable development.”
