Bauchi LGs get 60 transformers for communities

The Bauchi State Government has distributed sixty 500KVA transformers to the twenty local government councils of the state for onward distribution to various communities.
In a speech before the commencement of the distribution, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Nasirudden Muhammad, explained that the distribution of the transformers was in response to the incessant requests made by the rural dwellers.
The Commissioner expressed confidence that the purchase of the transformers will no doubt address problems of rural electrification which include Integrated Energy system for pumping of water, and provision for cold stores in health unit as well as energy for drip irrigation among others.
Barrister Muhammad appealed to the Local Government Councils to collaborate with Traditional Rulers and other relevant stakeholders for the security of the acquired transformers and its sustainability.
Flagging off of the distribution, the State Governor, Mohammad Abdullahi Abubakar pointed out that the distribution of the transformers was in line with the determination of his administration towards the provision of social amenities.
The Governor also said the gesture is to provide more electricity to meet the energy requirements of the people in view of the importance of energy to technological development.
Governor Abubakar noted that the resolve of his administration to revive the Ministry of Power and Energy is to compliment the efforts of the federal government in developing power generation and distribution.
The Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman reassured of traditional institution’s support to the administration of Governor Abubakar for effective implementation of his policies and programmes.
