Bauchi partners Chinese firms to promote industrial development

The administration of Governor Bala Mohammed in Bauchi State has vowed to tapped the abundant vast mineral resources in the state as part of the efforts to make Bauchi the industrial hub of the Northeast geo-political zone of the country.
According to the state Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Muhammed Maiwada Bello, Bauchi is undergoing a bold and deliberate industrial revolution aimed at unlocking its vast potentials, attracting global investors, and laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth.
To this end, the commissioner explained that, the revolutionary administration of Governor Mohammed, has signed agreements with two global and a national companies deliberately to propel socioeconomic and political development of the state.
Hon. Bello gave the bilaterally agreement signed companies as Mingsheng Group, Shandong Province in China; Nikhil Pvt Ltd in India; and an indigenous Resident Cement Factory, whose investments have already been pouring into the state.
Bello told the press in Bauchi Friday that the strategy is anchored on policy reforms, investor-friendly regulations, and critical partnerships that make it easier for businesses to establish various operational public-private partnership in the state.
“Bauchi potentialities has never been in doubt. The state could boast of abundance mineral resources, as well as a thriving agricultural sector that could feed industries in food processing and biofuel production. These resources have regrettably for years remained largely untapped.
“One of the most significant milestones in the state’s industrial mission is the joint venture between the Bauchi Government and Mingsheng Group of China, which has led to the creation of BM-Group, with the partnership focusing mineral-based industries to reduce reliance on external markets while stimulating the local economy,” he said.
Bello said that the agreement signing with Nikhil Pvt Ltd of India, renowned for its expertise in mineral exploration and processing, will drive investments in mining and value addition, to ensure that Bauchi does not just export raw materials, but also processes them into finished products, creating jobs and boosting revenue generation.
Bauchi state government also partnered with a local cement manufacturer, Resident Cement Factory, with the aim of expanding production and improving industrial infrastructure, to increase cement supply for both public and private projects construction across the nation, thereby reinforcing Bauchi’s position as a leading producer in the country.
The commissioner said that Kaura Mineral Processing and Buying Center was created with the sole objective of investment in mining and cement production, processing and value addition as it’s top priorities, explaining that the project is designed to revolutionize mineral trading and processing in Bauchi state
Hon. Bello stated that the centre when fully established, will provide a structured market for minerals, ensure transparency and fair pricing, enable value addition by processing raw minerals before export, reduce revenue losses, attract more investors by offering a central hub for industrial activities, and create jobs for thousands of Bauchi residents, directly and indirectly.
