Bauchi Police Command launched 'Operation Puff Adder'

In compliance with the directive of the acting Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, Bauchi State Command of the Nigerian Police under the watchful eyes of CP Ali Aji Janga, has officially launched Operation Puff  Adder  in the state command.
According to CP Janga, “this is special operation code lunched by the inspector General of Police to tackle security challenges such as kidnapping, armed robbery,  banditry and other criminal activities in the country. And therefore directed all Commissioners of Police in incharge of state commands to do same”.
It is in view of the directive that, the Bauchi State Police Command recently inaugurated a special squad code tagged “Operation Puff Adder” under direct supervison of the Commissioner of Police, comprising of conventional Police, police mobile, force, counter terrorist unit, special anti-robbery squad, Rapid Response Squad, Special Protection unit, anti-kidnapping unit, State Intelligence Bureau and State Criminal investigation Department.
CP Janga, said the aim of the operation is to tackle crimes affecting the state such as kidnapping, Saka — suka, armed robbery, cultism and activities of Babeli groups among others crimes and to also prevent influx of criminal elements to the state considering the ongoing security operations in the neighboring states as Bauchi State has border with seven states of Plateau, Kaduna, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe, Jigawa and Kano.
The state Commissioner of Police unfolded that, the operation is yielding positive results as criminal activities in the state were nipped in the bud while a total number of thirty nine suspects were arrested in connections with different crimes mentioned earlier and exhibits  were recovered during the operation.
The exhibits includes five Dane guns, nine cutlasses, one sharp knife, three motorcycles, 29 blocks of wrapped dry leave suspected to be Indian hemp, 2 axes, 3 long sticks, 1 tiger electricity generator, 1 ranki and 1 gario.
The Commissioner of Police use the occasion to appeal to the good people of Bauchi State for support, cooperation and understanding to in order to chieve the purpose of the operation and therefore commended Bauchi journalists for a job welldone.
