Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

A gubernatorial aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, AL-Amin Sani Muhammad has described the declaration of interest by Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to contest the APC presidential primary election as a welcome development.
Reacting to the declaration on Monday while speaking to our Correspondent, AL-Amin Sani Muhammad said that, “I am happy that he has finally declared his intention, it is a positive sign that our democracy is growing, it is no longer nascent”.
He added that, “His coming into the race will make it more competitive and broaden the horizons to enable delegates the opportunity to make the best choice from the lot”.
The gubernatorial aspirant however said that, “He has a lot to do to convince Nigerians to support his aspiration because Nigerians will not forget that he is part of the ongoing problems of insecurity and economic downturn”.
AL-Amin Sani Muhammad then advised APC members particularly the delegates to go for the best no matter who he is saying, “don’t consider religion, tribe or status but, go for the most qualified candidate and vote for him”.
In his own reaction, a chieftain of the APC in Bauchi state, Muhammad Aminu Tukur said that, “It is very welcome and commendable. He is more agile and capable when compared to other contestants. He will make a great President if elected”.
Aminu Tukur added that having worked with the President for 7 years now, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo according to him can rightly fit into the Presidential office of the country.
Another member of the APC in the state, Abubakar Garba though commended the courage of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for declaring interest in an office his political godfather, Bola Tinubu had already declared interest in, he said that it shows that he is ready to fight for the ticket.
Abubakar Garba however said that he must work very hard to be able to defeat Bola Tinubu at the party primaries because according to him, Bola Tinubu is an established politician.
