Big is beautiful: Organisers plan grand style 2018 edition of Plus Size week

Arrangement has been concluded for a grand style 2nd edition of the plus size fashion week Africa (PFWA) 2018 set to hold in November.
The plus size fashion week is an initiative that encourages the large women and the designers in that category all over Africa.
In an emailed statement to Apex News, it quoted founder of PFWA Temi Aboderin-Alao at a pre-event press briefing that “it is a platform that is set up to promotes the fashion industry especially for plus size women and to remove the hostility that is experienced by plus size people in the society.
“The whole idea is to show the world that people that are plus size can also be very elegant and smart models and to also create a great sense of belonging to the plus size women in the society,” he said.
The event is set to promote body positivity and to encourage people to accept who they are and avoid body-shaming.
The event will also serve as an international platform that brings people together for networking and business opportunities from all over the world.
According to the Managing Director of PFWA, Mr. Wilson Alao, the models that will be participating are from the age of 18 – 25 and they will go through two stages of auditioning where the best models will be shortlisted for the grand finale.
He added that good character will also be a yardstick in determining the winner of the award.
The theme for this year’s event  is “Beautifully Me” and it will feature fashion exhibitions, as the golden curvy modelling Agency will also have their models on the run way.
