Board of El-Kanemi Warriors FC, Maiduguri visits Borno lawmakers, FA

The Chairman, Borno State House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Hon. Ibrahim Babale has called on the new Chairman and Board members of El-Kanemi Warriors football club to cooperate with each other in order to move the club to the apex of Nigerian football.
He made the call Tuesday when members of the newly appointed Board of Elkanemi led by its Chairman Alhaji Sheriff Bukar paid him a courtesy visit at the Borno state House of Assembly.

This was contained in a statement to Apex News Exclusive by Media Officer of the club, Tahiru Bala.
Earlier, the Chairman Elkanemi Warriors Football Club, Alhaji Sheriff expressed confidence on the House Committee on sports ability to help the club attain greater heights by returning its lost glories.

He assured the members that with their support sky will be the club’s limit and soon the team and board members will come to rejoice with them after winning a premiership ticket at the national level.
Speaking at the occasion, Member representing Monguno State Constituency, Hon. Maina Garba duel extensively on the glorious days of El-kanemi Warriors, recalling the playing days of players like Manu Garba, Barnabas Imienger, Haruna Garba and many other Nigerian stars of those glorious days of Elkanemi.

He called on the new board to make the atmosphere in the stadium to be more conducive for spectators and important personalities.
In his remarks Hon. Yakubu Kimba representing Biu State Constituency emphasized the importance of football as a tool for unity and development in business that will follow only ICT and mining in making fortunes for individuals. He also assured the board members of their continuous support towards the upliftment of the Warriors.
Hon. Gambomi Marte on his part extoled the virtues of youth football development, pointing out that as member of the youth soccer federation he sponsored a youth team from Borno State that won laurels for Nigeria in Togo.

He assured the board of El-kanemi that they will continue giving their support to Elkanemi Warriors.
At the Football Association Secretariat, the Chairman, Borno State Football Association and Executive Committee Member Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Babagana Kalli welcomed the newly appointed Board members to the state football association secretariat.

He pointed out that El-kanemi is part and parcel of the FA being an affiliate like any other club only that some level of higher perception is accorded to it by virtue of its level and being a Government club.

He warned that the state FA has never fought any club and will never.

“Henceforth no club should think that the FA is angry with it and say they will visit the Association for reconciliation. All football Clubs are our babies and you cannot say you are fighting your baby,” the chairman reemphasized.
He once again advised the board to maintain synergy with the state FA and everything will go on smoothly in the overall interest of football development.
Speaking in his opening remarks the board chairman of the Warriors, Alhaji Sheriff Bukar said they were in the Secretariat to pay respect to the FA and appeal for their cooperation and understanding.

He explained that the assumed fighting is nonexistent, it is only merchants of lies that are brewing it unknown to the principal football administrators or actors.
The 1st vice Chairman Alhaji Baba Kura in his contribution said the newly appointed board members and chairman are tested and trusted.

He expressed happiness and satisfaction with their appointment and pledged their total support.

On his part the scribe of the Borno FA Alhaji Baba Gono Grema said this is the first time a complete Board of Elkanemi Warriors are in their office for a courtesy visit.He once again congratulated them for the appointment.
The TA of Elkanemi Warriors in his contribution pointed the various segments that play different role for a team to be successful but the failure in provision of equipment or funding could make a team to fell. But people will only blame the technical crew for the failure.
Elder Maliki Mohammed advised all to avoid gossip and face all problems squarely addressing it directly from the source.
