Boko Haram: Bama made Army’s special operations Brigade

The 21 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Bama, Borno State, has been upgraded into a “Special Operations Brigade.”
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, who made the announcement yesterday on a visit to Bama, commended the Brigade for its offensive against Boko Haram.
The announcement was contained in a statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu.
Lt-Gen. Buratai assured the Brigade of adequate logistics support to aid their operations.
He was received on arrival by the acting Commander 21 Brigade, Colonel AG Nura and visited the Gun Boat Company of Operation LAFIYA DOLE at Alau Dam, near Maiduguri, the state capital.
The Chief of Army Staff was accompanied by the Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Major-General Rogers Nicholas, Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters and the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier-General Bulama Biu.
