Borno Governor Zulum

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has embarked on an inspection of various projects in the state capital with a call to the Ministry of Water Resources to patronize the state-owned plastic industry, BOPLAS by purchasing plastic pipes and other plumbing materials to boost the economy of the industry.
He gave the directive Tuesday as he toured the sites of the projects in parts of Maiduguri and Jere local government areas in a private convoy made up of few aides.
During the visit he also assessed different waterlogged locations and dilapidated road networks where he also personally interacted with residents, listened to their problems with a view to provide solutions.
The tour which started at exactly 6:00am around London Ciki axis, as he assessed waterlogged communities and gave directives for immediate deployment of technical team to address the situation as well as Custom flyover bridge and Moromoro culvert with the aim to decongest the customs area roundabout.
At the ongoing work at 2.5 km Ngarannam drainage and Zajeri Primary Health Center, the Governor directed for the immediate completion and reopening of the health facility and proceeded to the site of the 10 km road and drainage network in Jiddari and another 9.8 km road and drainage network in Dala and Abujan Talakawa, where he also directed the Ministry of works and the State Road Maintainance Agency (BORMA) to expand the projects in order to cover other roads that require attention.
“You have to focus on this road network in Dala, you should priorities this road and complete it,” Zulum said.
The governor, was also at Njimtilo Industrial park,and assessed the destruction by wind storm which affected some portions of the Plastic production site and directed the ministry of water resources to patronize products from the state owned plastic industry in their future supply of plastic pipes and other plumbing materials.
In another development, Governor Zulum had a stop over over at one of the venues where a community based organization was holding its meeting in which community issues were discussed and gave directives for immediate installation of new transformer and expansion of their road network and also saddened with the water ways blockage by the management of Maiduguri Innovative School which has led to serious flooding around the area urging the agencies responsible to immediately take necessary action.
“The interest of the community is greater than an individual’s interest, liaise with the relevant authorities to solve this problem immediately.” Zulum said.
