By Sunny A. David
About thirty three people from Plateau State who sneaked into Anambra State have been arrested.
The lorry with registration number MGR 148 XA, Jigawa also loaded with goats was tracked and intercepted in front of Government House, Awka and escorted back to Anambra/Enugu boundary.
During interrogation they confessed that they came from Jos, on their way to Onitsha for economic purposes.
Speaking to newsmen, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Obiano, Mr. James Eze said that even though the occupants of the lorry are Nigerians, their movement contravenes the ban on interstate movement directive of President Muhammadu Buhari in keeping with the COVID-19 protocol.
He said that though Anambra is always hospitable, people should not take things for granted at this challenging period and asked people of the states to remain alert and sensitize people at the grassroots on the need to be vigilant.
Mr. Eze called on people to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols, until things normalize, as according to him, safety should be considered above every other thing.
