British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Paul Arkwright is hopeful that trade relationship with his country will reach £8 billion by 2030.
Presently, the figure is at £4.2 billion annually.
The envoy made the remarks Friday in Sokoto at an interaction with the media after a meeting with the management of Sokoto Investment Company.
He also debunked the allegation the Britain abandoned Nigeria as it is being claimed.
Arkwright however, admitted that his country had slipped behind some other countries when it comes to trade and investment in Nigeria.
Chairman of the company, Alhaji Tukur Umar Yabo explained their agreement with a British company to enhance leather value chain in the state.
