Buhari, Katsina emirate mourn ex-IGP, Ibrahim Coomassie

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the  family,  government and people of Katsina State over the demise of his classmate and former Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Coomassie.
The President’s condolence message is contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Thursday,
President Buhari said he received the news of the death of the Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF with shock and deep sense of loss.
He said: ”Nigeria will never forget the excellent leadership the late Coomassie gave to the Nigeria Police Force during  the many years he served as IG.”
Also,  the Katsina Emirate Council  has expressed shock over the death of Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie, the Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum(ACF).
Coomassie was the ‘Sardaunan Katsina’, a traditional title in the emirate, and a former Inspector-General of Police.
The Secretary of the council, Alhaji Bello Ifo, said that Coomassie’s death was a great loss to the nation.
He said that Sardauna was a trustworthy and honest person.
Coomassie died at the age of 76 in Katsina on Thursday evening after a protracted illness.
He will be buried on Friday after Jumaat prayer. (NAN)
