The former Governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, will formally unveil his biography “Poorlitics-The little boy from Goniri and the Progressives’ Manifesto” on Monday, July 23 at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
The launch will take place at the hotel’s Ladi Kwali Hall at 10am.
The book, undertaken by Bukar Abba Ibrahim Foundation and Bass Books (UK) Limited, is co-authored by Sam Agha Egwu.
The philosophy of the book centred on the need for politicians to de-emphasize money politics.
Also, in a statement about the book, the co-author noted that aspiring politicians who want to run for office are pre-occupied with making money because of the false belief they need huge sums in a money-oriented political system.
He said Senator Ibrahim first ran for Governor in 1991 at the age of 42, with N20, 000 against powerful opponents with godfathers, branded vehicles and thugs.
