The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has bagged this Year’s African Leadership Award an award as “Defender of Democracy” and Humanitarian Services from an organization, Rest LOGIC Nigeria, a Project Ambassadors Initiative.
The award which was presented Thursday, 17th June, 2021 at the Merit House, Maitama, Abuja had in attendance representatives of three ministers of the federation including Deme Pauline Tallen, Minister Women Affairs.
In a signed press statement by his media aide, Pam Ayuba to Apex News Exclusive, the ES said youths must not give up on their ambition urging them to be men of “vision”.
Earlier, Rev Pam who declared the occasion opened said what motivated him to accept the award was premised on the organization’s social mantra which was the unity of the country.
“I accepted the invitation to be here because I’m interested in the oneness of Nigeria as a nation.
“Our differences as a people today should be buried in the desire to develop the country and shown tribalism, sectionalism, religiosity, regionalism and other cleavages in all aspects of our live.
“I see young people who believe that Nigeria should remain as one nation under the leadership of God.
“I see the theme of the program: Emerging Leaders as apt as i remember the story of Joseph in the Bible who emerged from nobody to somebody because he had an inner vision”.
He called on the youths to have such “inner vision” for the country so that they can “see ahead what their communities and people want and will be in the next 40 years to come”!
”Youths should think of what Nigeria is to be tomorrow just like Joseph saw while in exile”!
He tasked the youths to see something ahead of them as “leaders ready to take over insisting “the youths must be leaders of vision”.
He said “its sad seeing and reading on social media how the youths condemn Nigeria. I’m proud to be a Nigerian and i hope that the youths should believe in that too.
“I want to see a people of vision who must pass through experience. God gave us experience so that we should teach others the concepts of leadership.
“As youths you must refuse to give up. Many developed countries did not emerge overnight but evolved through hard work.
“I have faith this conference will not be a waste of time but to proffer solutions to the development of the country”! he concluded.
