Christmas: Nasarawa acting Governor, Dr Akabe felicitates with Christians

Acting Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, has felicitated with Christians as they celebrate the feast of Christmas, urging them to imbibe the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ through sharing of love.

The Acting Governor, in a statement issued on Saturday, said the festive season calls for sober reflection and reaffirmation of the moral lessons learnt from the teachings of Christ.

According to Dr. Akabe, the birth of Jesus Christ symbolizes love, peace, humility and dignity for mankind, with Christ epitomizing the virtues of self-sacrifice, good neighborliness, charity and reconciliation among human race.

While felicitating with the Christian faithful from within and outside the state, the Acting Governor, reminded them on the significance of the sacred period, calling on them to continue to pray for sustainable peace, health and wellbeing of the country.

As the nation approaches the 2023 general elections, he further called on Christians in the state to seize the opportunity of the festive period to pray for the smooth transition, security and harmonious co-existence of the citizenry.

“My dear brethren, as you celebrate this Christmas season, I enjoin you to be steadfast and prayerful with all sense of humility. You should avoid extravagance and flamboyant lifestyle and be guided by the fear of God at all times,” Dr. Akabe stated.

The Acting Governor used the opportunity to also called on road users to remain cautious and to obey all traffic rules and regulations, aimed at ensuring safety on the road during the festivities.

He equally called on officials of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), as well as other relevant agencies, to intensify their operations and surveillance towards ensuring accident free festive period.

The Acting Governor thereafter, wished all Christians a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
