A grassroots politician and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauch state, former member of the State House of Assembly and onetime Chairperson of Giade LGC, Adamu Bello has dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Adamu Bello is a close associate of the APC gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 General elections in Bauchi state, Ambassador Saddique Baba Abubakar who hails from the same Giade LGA with him.

This significant development is seen as a major blow to the APC in Bauchi State, while bolstering the PDP’s fortunes in the region considering that Adamu Bello was one of the ardent supporters of the APC in the state and played prominent role in the 2023 General elections leading to the APC winning Giade LGA.

Adamu Bello’s decision to defect to the PDP was largely driven by his disappointment with the APC’s lack of a clear plan for Nigeria’s development having been a member since the party’s inception.

He realized that the APC had no viable plans for the country’s growth, prompting his decision to join the PDP.

During his meeting with Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, Adamu Bello acknowledged the impressive development projects executed in Bauchi State under the Governor’s leadership.

He also announced that he would be bringing his supporters along with him to the PDP, to further strengthen the party’s presence in the Giade and the state.

This development marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Bauchi State, with the PDP poised to capitalize on the APC’s losses.

As the political climate continues to evolve, one thing is clear: Adamu Bello’s defection to the PDP is a game-changer that will have far-reaching implications for the region.
