Cross River business summit to strengthen SME in emerging markets

The Cross River State government has scheduled to stage an International Cooperation and Investment Summit at month end aimed at attracting global entrepreneurs  and strengthening the Small and Medium Enterprises, (SME’s) as well as infrastructural development in emerging markets.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Mr Victor Edet disclosed this to journalists in Calabar on Monday.

He said that apart from featuring prominent guest speakers across the world, the summit would bring together international development organisations, mostly from the organised private sector around the globe.

“It will help in attracting Investments to the state and countering regional insecurity for sustainable growth.

“Also, it will promote international cooperation and enable the government to identify innovative solutions to solve the development challenges confronting the state among others,” he said.

He used the opportunity to call on government officials, captains of Industries, researchers, political leaders, corporate organizations, institutions of higher learning to register online and attend the summit through the website.

The conference which is to hold at the Calabar International Convention Center, (CICC) has as its theme; ” The Paradigm Shift”.

Prominent speakers at the summit include Director General, Nigeria Country Office, African Development Bank, (AFDB), Mr Lamin Barrow, Chief Executive Officer, Access Holdings Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, as well as  Dr. Olagunju Ashimolowo, Vice President Operations, Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS) Bank among 18 other dignitaries from different parts of the world.
