Cross River girl wins Rapper talents show

A 22-year-old girl Cross River State-born Idara Charles whose stage name is Diara has won this year’s Rapper Talents Show in Lagos.
She came up the best runner up and smiled away with N2 million while the prize winner got N3m with a car.
The two-month long event was organised by a group of promoters called Konnectors discover young budding Nigerian artistes in all spheres.
The show was tagged Stage Nigerian Season 2.
Over 12,000 young people had registered for the talents show but after series of elimination exercises, the last 20 finalists were camped in Lagos where they again went through assorted drills.
The talents hunt was relayed both on webinar and physical where followers and friends voted for their preferred contestants.
Diara whose major area was in rapping got the highest likes and votes across the world, and was not found wanting in all the house rules.
Her rapping skills and other artistic displays were adjudged stunning and innovative, marking her out for stardom.
Diara who was received by her teeming fans at the Margaret Ekpo international airport Calabar, said winning the prize was awesome and has challenged her to launch into the larger global space.
She told journalists at the airport that the world is going to see new trends soon.
“I am truly elated and honoured to have survived the two months tests and drills. But it has been my joy to exhibit my innate talents, to do what I have always wanted to do. The Lagos show granted the sought for opportunity.
“I am profoundly grateful to all, especially my unrelenting fans who never relented to pray, vote and hail me. They are very loving and wonderful people. Above all, I very grateful to my sponsor and father, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu.”
