Defection: Adamawa assembly Speaker accused for taking hasty decision

Heads may roll within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as it is accusing the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas of a quick declaration of the seat of Honourable Joseph Ayuba Kwada vacant when the member defected from the PDP to the APC.
The party stated this in a press conference at the state secretariat in Yola, Adamawa state.
The state party secretary, Dr. Raymond D. Chidama said this was unconnected to that of Honourable Umar Bororo who defected from the APC to the PDP.
The party also said that, this was a clear case of allowing the Speakers Personal interest to interfere with his official conduct and which is contrary to the Oath of Office administered on him on assumption of office.
According to APC, we are comfortable with the spate of defection, the party is again pointing out they are again watching the Honourable Speaker to see what action he intends to take on Honourable Shuaibu Musa who only very recently defected from the APC to the PDP.
On this note said Dr. Raymond, they have resolved to head for the court in respect of these two members.
And that the party’s legal team are putting heads together on their way for legal action on our behalf, said he.
However the party in a Press Conference congratulates all their party men and women who will fly the flags of their great party for the various positions in the 2023 general election.
The APC Secretary commended all the aspirants for their tremendously contributed to the growth and sustainable of the party and its members via active mobilization and utmost sacrifice of time and resources.
On the several appeals and legal proceedings as protests against the outcomes in few instances, the party sees this as normal democratic processes and at attaining transparency, satisfaction and eventually deepen unity.
Similarly, the party said has set up reconciliatory committee to start purposeful reconciliation among all it’s members across the senatorial area.
