The Adamawa Emirate Council has suspended the District Head of Jimeta, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Baba Paris, Dan Isa Adamawa, till further notice.
Statement from the Palace said from now the District Head stands suspended and a new acting District Head has been appointed to over see the affairs of the Jimeta District pending further development.
The Emirate Council overseers said the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Dr. Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha took the decision after it was discovered that the District Head (Hakimi) had been too closed to Governor Ahmad Fintiri-led administration such that he erected a large billboard near his house thanking the Governor for the massive construction and developmental structures in Jimeta in the past three years of the current administration.
Besides, sources further said the Lamido and his Council were angry with the District Head of Jimeta for giving tacit approval to the creation of more districts which the Adamawa State House of Assembly recently promulgated into law and sent to the Governor who approved and gazetted it.
Also, the Emirate sources noted that this could not go down well with the Council headed by His Royal Highness because according to them only the Lamido can create more districts in the entire Council.
Other source said the suspended District head was too royal to the Governor of the State and the Council was not comfortable with such development.
The Council was also said not to be happy with a media clip airing on Gotel Television where the he Hakimi Jimeta was pouring encomiums on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Reports has it that all the ward heads in Jimeta where invited to the Emirate Council and strong directives were given to them to support the new acting Hakimi Jimeta, Alhaji Mohammed Jauro Baba, who has been the Mai Jimilan Demsawo ward.
