Eid el-fitr: Governor Yahaya leads dignitaries on special Sallah Durbar by Emir of Gombe, as Emir Abubakar extols Governor’s development drive

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Wednesday led top government functionaries and other dignitaries to grace a special Durbar procession, known as Jafi in the spirit of this year’s Eid el-fitr Sallah celebration.
The procession, which was organized by the Gombe Emirate witnessed a spectacular scenery with multitude of horse riders in colourful traditional attire paying homage to the governor as enshrined in the rich cultural heritage of the people of Gombe State.
This was contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
In his sallah message at the Palace shortly after the durbar, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gombe and Chairman of Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid el-fitr festivities which marked the successful end of Ramadan.
The Emir commended Governor Yahaya for his uncommon zeal to transform Gombe State.
He said that, “We are specifically grateful to His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his transformational drive towards the development of Gombe State.”
The Emir added that, “Indeed, the Governor’s achievements in areas of security, health, education agriculture, rural development and roads are undoubtedly unprecedented”.
Considering the inception of rainy season in the state, the Royal Father encouraged the people of Gombe State to go back to farm to produce food and raw materials for industries, calling on diverse communities in the state to live in peace, respect one another and obey law and order.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya had earlier hosted his cabinet members, associates and other dignitaries to a lunch at the Banquet Hall of the Government House.
Earlier speaking during the brief reception, through his Deputy, Manassah Daniel Jatau, Governor Inuwa called on Muslims to continue to imbibe the lessons learnt during the month of Ramadan and to keep praying for the state and the country.
The Governor’s entourage during the occasion included, the Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, Speaker Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Abubakar Luggerewo, Chief of Staff Government House, Alh. Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Head of Service, Alhaji Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, Commissioners, Special Advisers and other top government functionaries.
