A group, tagged the Nasiriyya Movement, has congratulated the former Kaduna State Governor and FCT Minister, Mal. Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai on his 65th birthday and drummed their support for his emergence as Nigeria’s President come 2027.
North Central Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Nasiru Abdullahi Soja, said El-Rufai’s birthday is an apt period to commend him because his wisdom , experience and versality stands him out, and coupled with the fact that he has shown his governance card twice.
He said Nigerians should see the massive transformation Kaduna State has undergone under El-Rufai’s tenure as governor so much so that even his enemies would concede to this fact.
He said the National Chairman of Nasiriyya Movement, Garkuwa Ibrahim Babuga, is therefore calling on Nigerians to throw their full support for the only worthy candidate Nasir El-Rufai to emerge as President come 2027, and called on Nigerians to use his birthday to pray intensely for the former Governor and Minister.
This move further raises speculation that El-Rufai may be nursing presidential ambitions for 2027.
It would be recalled that recently Nasir El-Rufai has described politics as a lifelong venture, saying he would return to politics in 2027.
“I intend to return to politics in 2027 after completing my studies. There is no retirement in politics. By the will of Allah, we will return and continue serving the people,” El-Rufai had declared in an interview on Freedom Radio Kaduna.
