The management of Federal College of Education (FCE) Yola, Adamawa State has shut the institution indefinitely over students demonstration.
The students were protesing for poor living conditions in the campus which include lack of water supply among others.
The college have been without water for many days.
The situation became aggregated when some of the rioting students were chased by armed military and other security operatives.
Irked by the presence of security operatives, the students went wild and set fire on buildings and vandalised stores.
A student told Apex News Exclusive that they study under poor environmental conditions.
However, FCE authorities denied that students were left without water supply.
The Registrar of the college, Ahmad Gidado said the water scarcity was caused as a result of the breakdown of the main industrial borehole supplying the water needs of the entire school.
According to him the management swung into action on hearing about the water challenge immediately asked the works and services department to fix the problem, but only to wake up to see students rioting this morning.
