FG, refugee council relocate Cameroonian refugees in Benue

 
The Federal Government is relocating Cameroonian refugees in the country to approved areas in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
The move was in conjunction with the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR).
The movement is expected from Anyake, in Abande community of the local government.
Thomas Arthur Faustini is the UNHCR’s Head of Office in Adikpo. He said on Saturday that International Refugees Protection principles indicate refugees be kept 50kilometres from their border country.
According to him, about 195 Cameroonian refugees were moved in the latest phase raising the number in the state to about 500.
Cameroonian refugees are also housed in Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Taraba states following a crisis between French and English-speaking parts of the country.
