Former Nigeria’s defense minister, General Danjuma expresses worry over state of the nation, says peace must be established

A former Defence minister Lt. Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd) has expressed worry over the current state of the nation and called for an urgent peace in the land.
General Danjuma who stated this at the commissioning of his new eye hospital named after his wife Daisy in his country home Takum, said there is need for urgent peace in Nigeria to enhance development.
He said for the country to advance in technology like other countries in the world, peace and unity must be ensured so that young Nigerians should be discouraged from moving outside the country to foreign lands.
According to him, peace remains the solution for all development and therefore calls for a change of approach to enable the country to regain its lost glory in the comity of nations.
Speaking the new eye hospital, General Danjuma who is the founder and chairman Emeritus of the foundation appreciated Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for support.
According to him, the essence of the hospital was to give back to the society especially to the trodden considering the state of poor health facilities across board.
While applauding the national eye health program of the federal ministry of health, country director development Africa and board of trustees of the foundation for immense contribution, Gen. Danjuma noted that the eye hospital will render quality health services to the people.
In his address while commissioning the new ultra-modern eye hospital, the state governor Dr. Agbu noted with satisfaction that the new hospital will provide succor and in the state.
He said, the founder of the hospital has not only demonstrated unwavering commitment, love and passion to the people of the state but has equipped the hospital with state–of-arts- facilities that will stand the taste of time.
According to him, the new hospital came at the time when the government is working assiduously to improve the health sector of the state and express gratitude to the founder for making the hospital a reality.
Governor Kefas who called on Tarabans to patronize the hospital also encouraged them to strive hard to put eye diseases to an end.
In their goodwill messages representative of the national eye health program of the federal ministry of health, country director development Africa Joshua Kempeneer, chairman board of trustees Mr. Hannatu Gentles and host chairman Takum LGA Hon. John Ali among other dignitaries eulogies the vision of the founder/chairman of the foundation Gen. T.Y Danjuma for making the project a reality and pledges to support the hospital at all times.
