Former PDP national publicity secretary heads Cross River senatorial campaign for Jarigbe

As the Cross River Northern Senatorial District by-election holds on October 31st, 2020, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a 33-man central campaign council for Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe.

It is headed by a former national publicity secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Mr Venatius Ikem. The council was inaugurated Saturday.

It is noteworthy that a former chairman of the state Universal Education Board, Dr Anthony Odey is also laying claim to being the party’s flag bearer at the by-election.

Odey is believed to be backed by he state governor, Prof. Ben Ayade and is likely to float his own campaign council shortly.

The matter of double candidature is currently before a court of competent jurisdiction.

Accepting the task to lead the campaign council, Ikem who had been nominated as possible state chairman of the party in the forthcoming party election, Ikem congratulated every member of the campaign council on their appointment.

He urged everyone to remain steadfast and focus on delivering victory to the PDP and Agom in the forthcoming Senatorial election.

Also Speaking, Chief Austine Edibe, the Secretary General of the Campaign Council reiterated the need for unity especially in the days ahead, Chief Austine urged all members of PDP to take the Jarigbe Agom message of a better Cross River North to every part of the Senatorial district.
